Stoke Speaks Out is a multi-agency project to look at the issues underlying children's language deficits in Stoke on Trent.

Adam Potter

Father of three children. Aged 36. He works in the accounts department of a Pottery factory. He finds the job easy, but it is often boring. However, he enjoys the company of his work mates.

Favourite colour: black
Favourite food: chicken tikka masala
Favourite music: classic rock – ACDC and Led Zepplin
Favourite television programme: The Bill

Likes: football and cooking.
Does not like: cleaning the car, or cleaning anything for that matter. He can put the washing machine on, but does not know how to use an iron.  He will do the shopping, but prefers to let Claire do it on her own.

Adam was born in Stoke on Trent. His favourite subject at school was Maths.

He likes to play football with Zac, but Zac now seems to prefer going to the park to play with Ali and other friends. He has recently started to play football with Josh. However, he finds this very frustrating. He had forgotten how limited it is to play with little children. He does not remember this being a problem with Zac and Jasmine.

He used to have a good relationship with Jasmine, but doesn’t find it easy to talk to her at the moment. She seems to be growing up very fast, and can be quite rude at times. When he comes in from work she is engrossed in a TV programme, and says “Shut up” when he speaks. He gets extremely angry, but it doesn’t seem to bother her that he is upset.
